Problem
The existing process of generating and disseminating monthly employee experience reports to clients in PDF format posed significant challenges. This manual approach proved labor-intensive and lacked scalability, especially as the client base expanded. The time-consuming tasks of filtering and compiling diverse data hindered efficiency. Furthermore, the PDF reports were dense with information, presenting a barrier for users with varying needs and levels within organisations. This lack of tailored content made it difficult for C-suite executives and decision-makers to glean essential insights at a glance.
Objective
To address these challenges, we proposed a transformative solution—creating an online digital report. This innovative approach aimed to streamline the reporting process by automating manual tasks and presenting information in a user-friendly digital format. The objective was to enhance accessibility and cater to the diverse requirements of different user types. By transitioning from static PDF reports to a dynamic online platform, we aimed to improve the overall user experience and make data interpretation more intuitive.
Discovery
Engaged with key stakeholders and conducted user research to grasp the contrasting needs of expert users and executives. A thorough competitor analysis was also undertaken to identify industry standards and best practices, laying the groundwork for our design approach.
Ideation
Collaborative brainstorming sessions set the stage for a flurry of creative ideas. We transitioned from initial low-fidelity sketches to detailed wireframes, mapping out user journeys for the new digital report. Interactive prototypes were developed and continuously refined through feedback from both experts and executives.
Outcome
As an outcome of our efforts, we successfully charted a new product direction that resonated closely with our customers' needs. This not only enhanced our product alignment but also played a crucial role in reshaping the overall direction of the organisation. The implementation of the new digital reporting system yielded positive results. Both existing and potential clients embraced the enhanced user interface, appreciating the ease of access to vital information. Notably, this initiative played a pivotal role in retaining a major client who was on the verge of canceling their contract. Furthermore, the success of our product contributed to the reinforcement of our partnership with Vodafone Business. The digital reporting system became a centrepiece in Vodafone's newly established innovation hub centre in London, showcasing its significance in driving positive change within the industry. The outcome underscored the success of our strategic shift towards a more efficient and user-centric reporting solution.
